Abstract

The book El Poder Internacional y la Geo-estructura Internacional (Springer, 2024), edited by Alberto Rocha and Daniel Morales, presents an innovative theoretical and methodological framework for analyzing national and international power. It introduces a World Power Index, composed of 18 indicators, which measures and classifies the material, semi-material, and immaterial capacities of states over nearly five decades. Furthermore, it redefines traditional state categories by introducing nine new classifications that more accurately explain their roles and positions within a dynamic and transforming international system. This book is aimed at students of International Relations, academics, and individuals interested in understanding national power as a fundamental factor in the relations between countries.
