Abstract

This study proposes a comparative analysis of two recent protests in Latin America, based on Twitter, in order to evaluate political communication initiatives coming from the "public" of the region. Specifically, it seeks it seeks to understand, in terms of representations: ¿Whose audience voices are in the episodes? What do your messages express? And through what means do they materialize their demands? More broadly, it also proposes: to contribute to the the epistemological debate in the field; give greater methodological emphasis to the perception of the “public” in political communication processes; and expand the range of regional political communication studies, through a comparative approach, of political communication initiatives managed by Latin American civil society.
