Abstract

The book starts from the concept of Afro-Atlantic literature as a pivotal point, particularly focusing on the diasporas of these communities. The themes announced in the title are essential for approaching art from a transnational and intercultural perspective. The term "hispanophone" is presented as a determining factor in the corpus of the analyzed texts, a definition that transcends borders, as it not only situates the object of study in the Spanish colonial matrix but also acknowledges the complexity of the diasporas, thus challenging conventional labels. The author intentionally seeks to complicate the definitions and make them challenging, laying the foundation for understanding cultural identities. Her criteria aim to break away from binary classifications while simultaneously challenging established notions of race, ethnic belonging, and gender.
